I am totally disgusted at the manner in which Fedhealth has lied to their clients. I phoned the call centre last year after getting communication that the medical aid plans would change. I spoke to the consultant and his words to me were "nothing has changed just the name of the plans". Well they say it's recorded so look it up. On 6 Nov 2018 my wife needed a urgent stomach operation at Unitas. We waited 3 months for approval with Bestmed. Then we were approved and the medical aid card said no waiting period. I was admitted to hospital on 31 August to undergo surgery on my arm. During surgery they took a biopsy of the bone in my arm. It was determined that I had an antibiotic resistant bacterial infection in IV treatment of very strong antibiotics. On 3 Sept 2018 the doctor put in a special request for the medical aid to pay the IV treatment at home because it is cheaper for the medical aid to get it at home than paying the hospital for 6 weeks.
