In September 2015 I bought a second hand Peugeot 3008, Crossover at value of R160 000.00. Hardly a month later owning the car engine indicator on the dashboard went on resulting to a car loosing power. After submitting a quotation for a car repair they asked for an advance payment for parts, I paid R3000 and despite my e-mail demanding service or a refund, they have not responded. Be very careful with mobile mechanics who offer to do the work at your house. They might abandon you if you demand to rectify something not done correctly, and leave while your car is half-disassembled. Even if they agree to return, it is difficult to get hold of them and might never finish the job.

I made an online booking through rentalcars.com and paid in advance for two days. I only used the car for one day, collection the morning and returned same day. I could not get the additional day's paid travel back as a refund. Rentalcars.com is very fast to take your money but apparently cannot do any refunds for any reason. There are no exceptions.
