My mother's water metre is leaking since last year october and we started reporting this issue with the tshwane municipality last year and they kept on telling us they will send a plumber but up until today we have not received any help at all we were given a lot of reference numbers and this is the last one we received 805354. my mother stays in soshanguve block V stand 745 cell number 0713922388 and mine is 0768299136 please help us. Water has been gushing freely from a clearly defective manhole on the sidewalk in Leeuwen Street, Bo-Kaap for more than 24 hours with no urgency from the City of Cape Town to at least stop the flow! This is despite several calls to the authority yesterday and again this morning. Thousands of litres literally down the drain while the City imposes level 3 water restrictions. Pathetic CCT! I phoned Joburg water (011)3735555, on the 23 December 2016 at 13:25, spoke to a Ms Tintswalo, explained to her that I have a water leak on the pavement in front of my main entrance gate, she said that technician will come out and gave me a ref. # 8003087551. No one came out, so on the 25 December 2016 at 17:55, I called again and spoke to a Mr Pule, he said that the fault was booked out and the technicians will come out by tomorrow the 26th . We have not been receiving statements for a few months for our vacant piece of land and when I received the statement it showed that we are in arrears even though we pay R 300.00 a months. Now they are claiming that the basic water and electricity that they are charging is part of the rates and taxes. We are also billed for a basic sewerage fee but that is credited again. How can the just charge you without notifying you?

I have tried to phone City of Joburg three times now and have been cut off once when asked to "please hold", second time I asked not to be put on hold and the kind lady on the other side pretended not to be there but I could hear background noises and the third time was cut off before even getting to a consultant. I purchased a voucher for my prepaid electricity meter from Spar. I went home to load it and the meter did not want to accept the voucher number. I mailed all proof and nothing were done about it except they adjusted there computer to the correct readings supplied by my complaint. Yesterday municipal personnel closed water supply at my house because of outstanding water bill amounting to R5000 that resently came up in August 2016. I have been paying bill received since august 2014 according to their statements.
