I had a dispute with the standard bank insurance claim rejection and have sent them an e-mail about 5 days ago and I have yet to receive a reply. Herein are the details of the e-mail:

Good day

After a storm that ravaged the Durban area which my house roof was also affected on or before the 10th of October 2017. I then on the 11th of October 2017 logged a claim for damages on 0860 123 444 and subsequently received a reply via sms with the details of the constructor (Batho Pele) that will undertake an assessment on the damages (Claim Ref 17/077824).

After two weeks an assessment was done and later after patiently waited for a reply from your office I then received a phone call from one of your members the name I cant remember on the 11th of November 2017. The above mentioned member told me that the claim was unsuccessful citing the suggestion that the damage on my roof was old. To my dismay and shock I categorically told the said member that I dispute such a statement and requested that he send me an e-mail stating the reason so that I can further stake a dispute claim to such effect. On the 15th of November 2017 I received another sms which states that a contractor has been allocated to my claim.

My wife today the 22nd of November 2017 called your office again to enquire regarding the details and date which the said contractor could be contacted and the gentleman by the name of Raid Daron ( excuse me if any misspelling) told her that the sms sent could have been a system error. The e-mail statement I have requested is yet to be sent until now, as my fear and concern to incur further damages to the roof with time and persisting bad weather we are experiencing in our area.

I further dispute this type of business practice whereby we as your clients have to make follow ups and be given an excuse of a a certain system error which means had we not called your office was not going to inform us of such a said system error.

Herein I log a dispute on your assessment on the roof damages and further believe that your conclusion was rather unfair and seek to victimise us as your clients which in future will cause a an extensive breakup in our relationship .
