edgars Complaints - confused and poor quality

I m so confused. I bought pair of boats at Edgars. I bought it at the end of June and I'm not sure which date, all i no was month end.I worn the boats the whole month of July 2019. I just found out that the boats is broken. I took it back to the store, unfortunately I dont have a receipt. I bought the boats with good intention and I like the boat. I was not planning to return the boats is broken both shoes. The gentlemen by the name of Given, he said he cant take the boats without receipt. I dont have receipt. Method of payment was cash and I still have a box as prove of purchase.
