Absa Insurance Complaints - My replaced Geyser is still not working

Question to Absa Home Insurance: How long does it take to repair a burst Geyser? I lodged and insurance claim on 07 April 2014 (Claim number 6514319553) and to date, my geyser has not been fixed and I am still without hot water? Is Absa Insurance waiting for Barclays to send some qualified plumbers from London to fix my geyser?

I have had 3 incompetent service providers being appointed to address this problem but no success, and I am still without hot water (30 April 2014). Does Absa Insurance evaluate their service providers before appointing them to perform repairs on their behalf? Apparently not, or else I would not be sitting without hot water.

The first incompetent service provider, 24Fix, were able to replace the burst geyser after more than 48 hours as they had no stock! However their incompetent staff was unable to get the geyser working. Hence further delays until I phoned Absa Insurance claims department and complained, after realising that the 24 in 24Fix means 24 days or weeks and NOT 24 hours to fix.

A new service provider, FOGI was now appointed by ABSA to attend o all domestic related insurance claims. FOGI, also does not have a customer care and complaints handling department. Where does ASBA Insurance get these fly by night companies, I have no idea. FOGI also works with incompetent service providers.

This resulted in another incompetent service provider, Domesticare being appointed to attend to the problem. Unfortunately, Domesticare was unable to fix the problem and after numerous telephone calls and messages to the company I gave up after Domesticare sent me an sms to say that my problem was resolved and the case was closed. I then called Absa Insurance Claims and requested that another plumber be appointed to address my insurance claim on Friday, 26 April 2014.

Dave Miller Plumbing was appointed and I received a call to tell me that they would attend to the problem on Saturday, 27 April 2014. Dave Miller Plumbing rocks up on Wednesday, 30 April only to find that the geyser element is not working, even though it is a brand new geyser.

So now it becomes a warranty problem and the manufacture needs to attend to this while I sit without hot water. Apparently the manufacturer (Franke ) has no competent staff to come out and replace the geyser element. (Probably they are still training their staff on how to install and repair their manufactured geysers).

Can the Absa Insurance company, not replace this faulty geyser with a working one and then claim against the manufacturers warranty?

People, as a warning, don’t install Franke Geysers as these products are definitely sub standard and have probably not been tested before release to the unsuspecting public! In addition, Franke does not have competent staff to attend to warranty related issues so you may end up in a situation that I am!!

Further complaints to Absa Insurance resulted in FOGI appointing another service provider, Simunye Plumbing. All these plumbing companys want is the excess. They are not interested in assisting the customers.

Today is 04 May 2014, and I am still waiting for my geyser to be fixed.

ABSA INSURANCE PLEASE HELP. CAN YOU PLEASE REPLACE THIS FAULTY FRANKE GEYSER WITH A WORKING GEYSER. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THE EXCESS EACH TIME AN INCOMPETENT PLUMBER COMES OUT TO MY PREMISES

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the incompetence of the service providers being appointed to attend to my geyser insurance claim. How difficult is it to replace a faulty geysers?

I don’t think this is rocket science, and I am sure these geysers come with an instruction manual on how to install such devices.
