Edcon Gateway Complaints - Payment taken and Goods not released

On the 25th of November I visited Edcon at gateway and made a purchase and paid for it with my debit card. The payment went through on my account and a proof also came on my phone. The cashier told me that the payment did not go through and I needed to pay again, I refused as I had the proof. They refused to release my goods and I stood at the till for over 45 minutes waiting for them to sort this out. They refused to let me go with the goods and they insisted I make another payment and they will reverse it later. I refused and walked out furious with my payment that had already gone through and with them. Please note as I explained to them that I needed the goods for my trip as I was leaving on a cruise that Monday and they refused. I would like somebody to please take this matter further as they took my payment and refused me my goods that I had already paid for.
This is totally not acceptable. How does a huge company like Edcon do business like this.
