Translux Complaints - Poor Service

I booked a bus from Midrand for both my daughter and myself to Umtata on the 13th December 2017. Needless to say that the bus was late even though were asked to be there an hour earlier.

Somewhere around Pietermaritzburg there was a loud bang towards the back of the bus and the passengers called out to the driver claiming that they had seen sparks of fire. I cannot attest to that because I did not see it. The driver came and pacified the concerned passengers telling them it was "just" the bus "backfiring" and there was no cause for concern.

my own problem is that the very same bus arrived in Kokstad and I though it was a refresher stop. To my amazement, the bus never moved from there. No announcements were made to us passengers. I just saw people getting out in two's or three's. When I enquired from other passengers I was told that the bus had in actual fact broken down and they (drivers) were asking lifts for the passenger from passing-by busses.

needless to say that we sat around Kokstad from 3h15 AM and were only able to get a "lift" from another bus around 7h30 AM. What disgusting service !

my question is why do they release busses that are not roadworthy for such long distances ? I don't even want to start on the condition of the toilet. I mean even from the onset, the toilet was full of water in the actual bucket, which meant that it was not in any condition to be used !

What disgusting service !
