Netcare Mulbarton Hospital Complaints - Withholding of Refund on Overpayment for Services

During early October 2017, I visited the hospital for a check up. I was told to pay a R100 levy. Their main reception informed me that I was not supposed to pay, as, according to the lady that assisted me, the hospital in fact owed me an overpayment of roughly R2000, which I had paid in November 2016. The lady was kind enough to give me the details of Netcare's credit control dept in Sunninghill. I phoned them (011-205 7398) on 04 October 2017 and spoke to Ofentse, who confirmed the overpayment and told me that my money will be refunded to be once they had passed a debit of R100. To-date, Netcare has not bothered to fix this situation.

It is telling that such a big organization would keep quite from at least November 2016 and not proactively contact me in order to refund my money. They have had my contact details all along. It looks like it was by mere coincidence that I had to discover the money owed to me because I had gone to the hospital numerous times and this refund was never mentioned.

Today, 23 October 2017, I called them again and spoke to Busiswa. She took my details and promised to call me back ... (unwarranted delay loading!)

Judging by Netcare's attitude, one wonders what steps they would normally take when they are owed money vs in this case where they have simply adopted a don't care attitude insofar as taking proactive steps to refund my money is concerned.

Pathetic service this is.
